SUBLIME OUT NOW!

SublimeJonny Loves House with Country Gents remix

Sublime is the first in a string of forthcoming release’s from Jonny Loves House and comes with a remix from the Country Gents.

The song itself was Inspired by walking around Fez on the last day of a trip to Morocco, hearing some music that was coming from a little speaker, with someone sitting on top of it right next to one of the market stalls.

The music sounded like an almost house beat with really simple organ chords over the top, nothing else, and then a simple change to just the bass line and beats. It sounded so raw and nice, it stuck in my mind.

On the plane home, using caustic on a tablet, inspired by what I had seen and heard I made the basic groove of Sublime. Fast forward a few years and the original groove has been sampled up and added to with Ableton.

For remix duties I asked the Country Gents to give me their take on it.

Not disappointing they turned the song around on it’s head and created something special. Retaining the original vibe and sounds while also adding their own signature underground bumping vibe.

Since the early 2000’s Lee has used the moniker Country Gents for gigs and releases.

Lee began Deep Cartel Recordings in 2010 with Dan Cartel and then his own Buslife Records label in 2015. Just about to release its 46th EP.

He got involved with radio 5 years ago and now has 3 regular shows. His primary radio residency is on The Underground Sessions which airs at 6pm UK time every Saturday. He also presents 2 monthly breakfast shows on Bloop London and Garage House Radio.

Lee is most likely to be found at Illegal parties around the UK he is a regular at Duvet Vous in Bristol and has a great deal of love for Smokescreen and DiY sound systems and their free party House music ethos.
